Biographical Information

Magazines and Newspapers are often a good source for biographical information, especially trade publications and newspapers.  However, they are not a guaranteed source, only a likely source.  Click here for a list of article databases.

Reference books:
The following are standard biographical reference directories for business.

• D&B Reference Book of Corporate Managements (REF HD 2745 .D85)
• Standard & Poor's Register of Corporations, Directors, and Executives
    (REF HG 4057 .A4)

Databases:

• Biography and Genealogy Master Index:  Indexes more than 700 current and retrospective biographical sources. Does not include full-text, but refers the user to biographical information in other sources. Includes over four million contemporary and historical figures.
• Biography Resource Center: full-text biographical information on more than 250,000 people from throughout history, around the world, and across all disciplines and subject areas.
• Thomson ONE Banker: go to the 'Filings' tab, then look particularly in the 10-K report for biographical information on executives, and in the Proxy Statements for biographical information on board members.
• Wall Street Transcript: provides transcripts of interviews with CEO's and other high-level corporate executives, and transcripts of interviews with investment analysts and money managers.  Includes brief biographical information on the interviewees.  1997 - present.
