Resource
So ... what's next?
Look at your research question,
analyze it, and try to identify the type of research source you will
need. For example:

What is the history of the industry? What are the distribution channels for this industry?
What are the top ranked companies in a particular industry?
Where can I get a list of companies which all produce a particular product or service?
Reference: dictionaries
and encyclopedias, directories and almanacs
Where can I find the
last five years' production data for the US for a particular product?
How about global data?
What if I need longer time series data?
What about if I need quarterly data instead of annual?
Statistical resources
Where can I find
current news about this industry?
What are the latest marketing trends in this industry?
News articles
Where can I get
forecasts for an industry?
