Housing

Because home-stays offer more opportunities to use Spanish on a daily basis and more intimate exposure to Spanish culture, the majority of students stay in private homes with Spanish families, which are approved and arranged by the Marquette Study Center.

Students may opt to live in private apartments; however, such arrangements must be made by the student.

Summer students also have the option of staying in dorms at the Colegio Mayor.  These dorms provide a laundry room, dining room, snack bar, tennis court, pool, auditorium, computer room, and basketball court. All rooms and common areas have air-conditioning. All rooms are single with their own bathroom, Internet connection, and telephone. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided daily except Sunday.  The Colegio Mayor is situated in the Moncloa section of Madrid's Ciudad Universitaria. There is a supplementary fee for this housing option.

Fall: During the first two weeks of orientation, students reside in a Colegio Mayor with other Spanish students. After this point, students move to their respective host families.

Spring: Spring semester students reside in a hostel for the first 14 days, then move in with their host families.

Summer: Students will move directly into their housing of choice, either homestay or the Colegio Mayor.
