Official Contest Rules - Big East Tournament


Eligibility

Individuals, 18 years of age or older, who submit a completed return postcard from the winter issue of Marquette Magazine, or complete an online entry form at www.marquette.edu/bigeast, will be eligible to participate in this contest. Current Marquette University employees are ineligible for the contest.

Odds on becoming the winner will be determined by the number of entries received. Marquette University accepts no responsibility for lost, late, illegible or misdirected entries.

A winner will be randomly selected by a Marquette University representative. If the winner cannot be reached, does not respond within five calendar days, does not meet eligibility requirements or in the event of noncompliance, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected randomly from the remaining eligible entries.

Contest Entry Period and Notification

The contest entry Period begins at 12:01 AM on January 26, 2010 Central Time and ends at 11:59 PM Central Time on February 24 , 2010 (the Contest Entry Period). Marquette will not consider submissions outside of the Contest Entry Period. Winners will be notified by Marquette University representatives via phone or email.



The Prizes

Subject to the conditions of these Official Rules, one winner will be chosen and awarded a prize package that will contain the following:
  • Two round-trip, coach class airfares from the AirTran Airways hub of their choice to New York, NY.
  • Hotel accommodations for two persons in New York, New York, for the evenings of March 9, 2010 and March 10, 2010. If the Marquette’s men’s basketball team wins and advances in the tournament, winner will receive additional nights hotel accommodations, up to a maximum of five nights, as follows:

    • If Marquette wins its game on March 10, 2010, then winner will receive one additional night of accommodations in New York City on March 11, 2010.
    • If Marquette wins its game on March 11, 2010, then winner will receive one additional night of accommodations in New York City on March 12, 2010.
    • If Marquette wins its game on March 12, 2010, then winner will receive one additional night of accommodations in New York City on March 13, 2010.
  • Winner may stay, at his/her own expense, beyond the designated number of nights that Marquette University will cover accommodations. Winner must notify Marquette University of their intended return flight home a minimum of 48 hours in advance prior to departure from New York City following Marquette’s final game in the Big East Tournament March 9-13, 2010. Stay in New York City shall not exceed one week beyond the final game of Marquette men’s basketball in the 2010 Big East Tournament, March 9-13, 2010.
  • Two tournament tickets for each Marquette game March 9-13, 2010.
  • All additional and/or related expenses regarding this package including, but not limited to, taxes, transportation to/from local airport, trip-related meals and other personal expenses are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes are not transferable and the winner cannot use the tickets or hotel accommodations for dates outside of the 2010 Big East Tournament.



Winner Releases

Winner may be required to sign an affidavit/disclaimer and tax forms. The winner will be notified when the appropriate contest and tax forms need to be signed, if applicable. Winner and his/her guest shall consent and agree to the use of their names, photographs, and voices or likenesses for broadcast and promotional purposes by Marquette University and any prize sponsoring agency during and after the contest, without compensation by Marquette University or the prize sponsoring agency.
