Today's the day
By Jessie Bazan, Comm '14

Today, campus is abuzz with students and community members coming to cast their votes in Wisconsin's historic gubernatorial recall election. The Alumni Memorial Union is the polling site for residents of Milwaukee's District 4, Wards 190, 191 and 192. Polls will remain open for voters until 8 p.m.
Throughout the spring, Marquette's Law School played an active role in election coverage, from hosting the final debate between Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett at Eckstein Hall to providing extensive voter data through the Marquette Law School Poll.
Many students are getting swept up in election coverage. Sophomore nursing student Erin Brauer, a Wisconsin native, understands the importance of voting in today's election.
"This entire reelection process has offered a new glimpse into the darkest and worst parts of our system," Brauer says. "Hopefully, if everyone goes out and votes today, no matter the outcome, we will begin to reconstruct our government in an honest and fair manner, the way it was initially intended."
