Secret sombrero

Some students know how to keep a secret. Even a 30-year-old one …
For three decades there’s been a rumor about something hidden in one of the residence hall rooms, almost like an heirloom passed onto the next generation. Rumor has it that the present residents can add their mark to this particular piece of Marquette history — if they can find it.
More than a few determined students have found it and, better yet, signed it to become members of this “secret sombrero society.” Are you one of them?
Residence Life staff and Summer Crew members find the secret sombrero every now and again while getting the rooms ready for the fall semester.
“When students find it and bring it to me over the summer, I always instruct them to put it back where they found it,” says Rick Arcuri, associate dean for administration in the Office of Residence Life.
According to Arcuri, it’s almost always discovered in the same room, in the same place every year. “But we won’t share its exact location for fear of someone taking it,” he says.
Are you a member of the “secret sombrero society?”Let us know who you are and when you signed it — but, please follow the unwritten rule and don't reveal its location.
