Engage the World

A Marquette education puts students in touch with the world

Seven days, 23 students, 1.5 tons of medicine and more than 2,300 patients. Those statistics can’t capture the experience of the Marquette trip to Honduras where students work with Sister Maria Rosa Leggol and her organization, Sociedad Amigos de los Niños. The Young Variety Medical Relief Group visits the poverty-stricken country twice a year. They come armed with medical professionals, suitcases full of donated medicine and boundless enthusiasm. Traveling to rural villages with their makeshift pharmacy, they make a difference one patient at a time.
