Lawrence M. Rich, Sp ’70, Grad ’70, was appointed executive director of the newly formed electronic communication office for Maryknoll – Catholic Foreign Mission Society of America. He coordinates the organization’s media strategy. He celebrated his 25th anniversary with Maryknoll in December.

Scott W. Lang, Arts ’72, was elected mayor of New Bedford, Mass.
Lonnie T. Carter, Grad ’73, had his play, Wheatley, performed at the Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago. The play dramatizes the life of Phyllis Wheatley, the first African-American to have a volume of poetry published. He is one of the youngest writers to receive a Solomon Guggenheim Fellowship and currently teaches at New York University.
John A. Martinka, Bus Ad ’74, Grad ’76, is vice president of Partner On-call Network. The company uses a franchise structure to assist clients to buy, sell, improve, start, finance and value small- to mid-sized businesses.
Kathleen (Schleif) Roth, Dent ’74, was elected president of the American Dental Association. She is the second female in the organization’s history to be elected to the position. She will focus on raising awareness of established dental practices in rural and low-income communities.
Mark F. Vetter, Law ’74, has been named chairman of the board of Davis & Kuelthau law firm in Milwaukee. His responsibilities include serving as chief public representative and marketing officer. He formerly served as the firm’s president.
David J. Plevak, Arts ’75, was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Winona, Minn. He has been a staff physician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for the past 26 years.
Michael P. Ringwood, Arts ’75, will be included in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of legal malpractice law. He is a partner at Smith Sovik Kendrick & Sugnet in Syracuse, N.Y.
Anne L. Szcygiel, Sp ’75, Grad ’77, was appointed to the Greendale (Wis.) School Board. She has worked for 25 years as a budget analyst and budget unit manager for Milwaukee County and has also served on several boards and committees for the Greendale School District.

Thomas L. Frenn, Law ’76, is chair of the editorial board for the Business Adviser Series, a nine-volume book being published by the State Bar of Wisconsin. With Shawn Govern, Law ’91, he co-authored the chapter “Buying and Selling a Small Business.”

Jane (Selinger) Michaels, Jour ’76, joined the staff of The Doings newspaper as a staff writer responsible for covering the Hinsdale High School District 86 and Elmhurst Unit District 205. She previously worked as a freelance writer and has written for Country Sampler magazine, the Chicago Tribune and Wordcraft.

Susan (Eshelman) Ela, Nurs ’77, Grad ’88, is responsible for the Kettle Moraine region of Aurora Health Care. She is also responsible for Aurora Family Service, the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association, the organization’s south region, care management/clinical programs, and nursing and clinical program development.
Constantine Stamatelakys, Dent ’77, was elected president of the Wisconsin Dental Association. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and the Midwest Society of Periodontists, and president of the Wisconsin Society of Periodontists.

James E. Braza, Bus Ad ’78, was named president of Davis & Kuelthau law firm in Milwaukee, responsible for overall management of the firm and implementation of the strategic plan.
Anthony V. Crivello, Sp ’78, performed in A Flea in Her Ear at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and also played the title role in the Las Vegas production of Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. He also appears in the movies Material Girls and Welcome to America.
Beth (Ermatinger) Hanan, Arts ’78, was named a member at Gass Weber Mullins LLC, a law firm in Milwaukee. Previously, she worked as law clerk to Janine Geske, retired justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She also serves as vice chair of the Wisconsin Judicial Council.
Brian M. Paluch, Bus Ad ’78, joined the St. Louis design/build contractor Paric Corp. as vice president and chief financial officer. He has more than 25 years of experience in senior financial and management roles.
Richard W. Scheiber, Arts ’78, Grad ’90, participated in the Lincoln Seminar sponsored by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. He was one of 31 high school history teachers nationwide selected to participate.
