Barbara J. Hurula, Grad ’81, is executive director of the Federation of Environmental Technologists, an organization dedicated to pollution prevention and economic growth. Previously, she served as executive director of the United Way of Washington County, Wis.
Dena Lieberman, Grad ’81, was promoted to professor and chair at Alverno College in Milwaukee. She has been on the faculty for 15 years and has been responsible for coordinating the business management and marketing majors.
Gregory R. Ranalletta, Law ’81, joined RubinBrown LLP as a manager in the company’s wealth management services group. He has more than 26 years of experience in accounting and specializes in individual income tax, estate and trust taxation and planning, and related issues.
Jeffrey P. West, Grad ’81, is vice president and treasurer of Wisconsin Energy and We Energies. He is also a director of American Transmission Co.
David D. Wilmoth, Law ’81, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.
Capt. Richard J. Postera, Arts ’82, was named commanding officer at Naval Station Great Lakes. He is a naval aviator and this assignment is his first shore-based assignment in five years. Martin J. Donald, Arts ’82, Law ’88, received the Tradition of Excellence award from Shorewood High School in Shorewood, Wis. He graduated from the school in 1977 and now serves as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge and member of the governor’s task force for probation and parole in Wisconsin.
Missy (Farren) Kincheloe, Arts ’82, and her agency, Missy Farren & Associates, handled public relations for Burton, a snowboard hardware and apparel company, at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. They also handled the Gold Medal Victory Tour for medalists and Burton riders Shaun White and Hannah Teter.
Kevin P. Poorten, Bus Ad ’82, was featured in an article in The Midweek newspaper in Dekalb, Ill., for his success as president and CEO of Kishwaukee Health Care System.
Christopher A. Ruzicka, Jour ’82, joined the real estate firm of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker in St. Louis as vice president of corporate marketing. Previously, he was employed as marketing vice president in the wholesale lending division of CitiMortgage Inc.
Victor J. Narusis, Bus Ad ’83, was named 2005 Distinguished Alumnus at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill. He served two years as the school’s alumni association president and also helped chair its annual fund.
Steven J. Nass, PT ’83, was named to a four-year term on the Athletic Trainers Affiliated Credentialing Board. The board licenses athletic trainers in the state and interprets rules governing the practice of
athletic training.
Col. Michael J. Oehl, Arts ’83, U.S. Marine Corps, was selected to command the 6th Marine Corps Recruiting District, responsible for recruiting officers and enlisted men and women in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida and Puerto Rico. He is also the deputy chief of staff at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany.
Joseph E. Puchner, Arts ’83, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.
James A. Waldvogel, Bus Ad ’83, was named 2006 Hotelier of the Year by the Minnesota Hotel and Lodging Association. He is employed by the Crowne Plaza Northstar Hotel in Minneapolis and helped to increase profitability by $1 million during his first year as general manager.
Jeffrey J. Tengel, Bus Ad ’84, was appointed senior vice president and chief credit officer with National City Corp. He previously served as chief credit officer of Wholesale Banking for National City.
Michael J. Polzin, Jour ’85, was named director of external communication for Walgreen Co. in Deerfield, Ill. He joined Walgreens in 1992 as a communication specialist and most recently was manager of external communication.
Walter J. Skipper, Bus Ad ’85, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.

Kathryn (Coates) Buono, Law ’86, was named a Wisconsin Super Lawyer by Law & Politics. The award is given to the top five percent of attorneys in the state in more than 50 areas of practice.
Peter A. Budney, Arts ’87, joined Orbis Corp. as vice president of marketing. His responsibilities include new product and emerging market development, and core market growth.
MaryBeth (Beehner) Osnes, Arts ’87, performed a one-woman show at the Women and Creativity conference held at Marquette. Her show, The Mother Load, grew out of a group Osnes co-founded called Mothers Acting Up. The organization focuses on the political and economic strength of mothers to ensure the health, education and safety of every child, and it was featured in the May issue of O Magazine.
Susan (Gengler) Liermann, Nurs ’88, was named Citizen of the Year by the Dodge County Executive Law Enforcement Association. She was honored for her work on changing the state statute pertaining to hit-and-run accidents.
Bryan R. Moss, Jour ’88, spoke at an assembly on Martin Luther King, Jr., Day at Rochelle Township High School. He is part of the Muslim Comedy Tour, and he has also written for “The George Lopez Show,” “Politically Incorrect” and “Saturday Night Live.”
Shannon M. Purtell, Arts ’88, co-authored the books The Eating Disorder Book of Hope and Healing, Hope and Healing for Survivors, and Hope and Healing for Women. She is a psychotherapist in private practice in Dallas.
Peter H. Vitti, Bus Ad ’88, earned national certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. He is one of only three secondary social studies teachers in Pennsylvania to earn this honor. He has been teaching at an inner-city high school in Pittsburgh for 13 years, and coaches the boys’ volleyball team, which has won six straight city championships and qualified for the state championship tournament for nine straight years.
Kevin P. Cunningham, Bus Ad ’89, was featured in an article in The Jackson Citizen Patriot in Jackson, Mich. The article focused on his role as president of Cunningham Construction Co.
