Coach of the Year

Big East golf coaches name Grogan to top honor

Could there be a better way to complete a 14th season as head golf coach than to be named Big East Coach of the Year? Okay, maybe leading the team to the best conference finish in school history — especially this conference — comes close. Wait a minute, Tim Grogan sealed the season with both.

He was voted Coach of the Year by the league’s head coaches, a first for a golf coach in Marquette history. Grogan credits his team. “The impressive thing to me was that we were in a position to win every tournament we were in this season,” he says. “That’s all you can ask as a coach. This award is more of a tribute to the team as a whole, especially the seniors.”
