The heartbreaking tragedy at Virginia Tech this past spring reminds us that no college or university exists in a bubble. Certainly our thoughts and prayers are with the students, faculty and staff of that university as they continue to seek healing after their horrendous ordeal.
Forgiving others is one of the fundamental components of Christian life. It is also challenging. Forgiveness is not pretending that some injury didn't happen, that no one betrayed a trusy, broke a relationship, or acted unjustly. Forgiveness acknowledges the reality of offenses but denies them the power to rule the future.
