Lisa M. Klein, Arts ’80, published her first novel, Ophelia, a revision of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. She lives with her husband and two sons in Columbus, Ohio.
1982 Reunion Year
Colleen Conrad DeFouw, Grad ’82, organized and participated in a Costa Rican spring tour in April with Kettle Moraine Middle School, Dousman, Wis. Participants brought school supplies to elementary school students in Tirimbina.
Ann (Bonness) Angel, Grad ’83, was contributing editor for Such A Pretty Face, a collection of short stories about alternative perspectives of beauty, and wrote the biography Robert Cormier: Master of Tragedy. Both books will be released in 2007.
Nancy (Carpentier) Brown, Nurs ’83, wrote a chapter in the book The Catholic Home-school Companion.
Jeffrey T. Gubbins, Eng ’83, Grad ’94, appeared on Terry Bradshaw’s Winner’s Circle on MSNBC as co-owner of Xact Wire EDM Corp. Xact was chosen because of the corporate commitment to excellence.
Andrew M. Wagner, Eng ’83, was named lead software engineer for the enhanced hot water drill for Project IceCube, which will eventually allow astronomers to see deep into space. He spent portions of 2005 and 2006 at the South Pole constructing the observatory.
Dr. Frank M. Buscher, Grad ’84, Grad ’88, presented “Explaining the Holocaust: The Historian as Teacher and War Crimes Investigator” at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis. He is a history professor at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn.
Cmdr. Thomas M. Heron, Eng ’84, joined Harris Connect as vice president of production services in the client services center in Norfolk, Va. He previously worked at Champion International Corp. and at Capital One Corp. and lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Riva, and their three children.
M. Shawn (Burns) Puccio, Bus Ad ’84, is senior vice president of Saint-Gobain Corp.
Margo H. Francisco, Sp ’85, is executive vice president of The Roberts Group Inc. Previously, she was vice president of business development for BroMenn Health Care System in Bloomington, Ill.
Thomas A. Lenz, Arts ’85, a partner with Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, was named among the top 100 labor attorneys in the United States for 2006 by the Labor Relations Institute Inc. The award is given to the top one percent of labor attorneys in the country.
Michael P. Thomson, Eng ’85, was named deputy director of flight operations at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. He also received the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal.
John G. Krenson, Arts ’86, published his book Terror in the Crossfire: A Time for Peace, War & Love. The book reflects on the jump from a man of peace to a soldier of war, and military action as moral and necessary for saving lives in the Middle East and at home.

Dr. Mark R. Crego, Dent ’87, was elected vice president of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association.
Elizabeth (Marsh) Hampton, PT ’87, accepted a faculty position at the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute in Seattle. She also owns Core Therapeutics Physical Therapy and Pilates Studio, which celebrated its second anniversary in 2006.
Dr. Mark J. Kortebein, Dent ’87, was elected secretary/treasurer of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association.
Dr. Xuncheng (Jim) Huang, Grad ’87, Grad ’88, was appointed dean of the College of International Exchange at Yangzhou Polytechnic University in China. He previously worked as a mathematics professor.
John R. Pudner, Jour ’87, is president and CEO of Concentric Direct LLC, a government affairs consulting firm. He lives with his wife, Kalynne, and their nine children in Alabama.
Scott M. Hollenback, Arts ’88, a psychology instructor at Waubonsee Community College, was granted tenure effective fall 2006.
Dr. Thomas J. Kraklow, Dent ’88, was elected president of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association.
Dr. Paul Levine, Dent ’88, was elected president-elect by the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association.
Kalynne (Hackney) Pudner, Arts ’88, joined the faculty of the philosophy department at Auburn University.
Rainer U. Seitz, Arts ’88, Grad ’94, earned his doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology at Portland State University. He was appointed visiting assistant professor of management at Washington State University in Vancouver.
Jeffrey J. Bresch, Bus Ad ’89, was appointed to the board of directors of Sarah Heinz House in Pittsburgh, which has served the city’s young people since 1901 and today offers educational, recreational, social and art programs to 800 youths.
Michael R. Rietz, Arts ’89, was named city manager of Maryville, Mo.
Peter G. Vandenhouten, Arts ’89, was named vice president and general council of ShopKo. He has been with ShopKo since 1999.
