The Manresa Project, originally funded by the Lilly Endowment Inc., is focused on the theological exploration of vocation. "Exploration" is the key word, because elements of Manresa are designed to help students, faculty and staff search for and ask important questions about meaning, purpose, life's journey and using one's gifts and talents to serve God.
Manresa and the Marquette Mission
Manresa intersects with Marquette University's mission and Ignatiun/Jesuit roots, mentoring and guiding students toward becoming women and men for others. Manresa also interweaves one's faith with one's life, so that moral decisions and behaviors are consistent with the call to a life of service to others - whether in a chosen profession, Christian ministry, family life or volunteer commitments.
Key to our success is faculty involvment, for it is faculty who are clearly connected to the experiences of students within this academic environment. As well, peer educators, associate deans, career services, the counseling center and ministry team, student affairs professionals and all who advise students will benefit by attending Manresa programs.
These Manresa Project initiatives give new focus to anyone working with students:
