God is love; and all who dwell in love dwell in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16
God is much more than a guest we invite into our lives on Sunday. Guiding students who seek a deepened, loving relationship with our Creator is a primary objective of the Manresa Project.
Think about what you talk about with your best friends: what you want to do with your life, your relationships, making a difference, your fears about world issues, finding yourself, your faith in a complex world...Then ask yourself these questions: Where is our society right now? What is our world facing? Are there needs that I can fufill? Does someone need something my talents and interests can provide? How can I serve others?
The Manresa project invites students to look at these questions and a score of others, especially through reading and conversation, as well as presentations by alumni and community leaders who have engaged in exploring these questions through their own lives and decisions.
A wealth of resources is available in the form of books, CDs and audio tapes on vocation, discernment, spirituality, Ignatian spirituality, prayer, contemplation, meditation and biographies of people working for faith and justice all housed at the Raynor Libraries. The Manresa Project also reaches students like you who, because of their faith commitment, have an interest in making church ministry their life work. You will have access to theologically based, reflective programs, including retreats, dinner discussions on vocations, and a scholarship and internship program.
As you become more aware of how your particular gifts and talents can build a life of work in Christian church ministry, we invite you to participate in these interactive opportunities.
