Marquette University, a Catholic Jesuit university located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is in search of a director for the Faber Center for Ignatian Spirituality. The Faber Center is an endowed center for the promotion of Ignatian spirituality among faculty, staff and administrators.
The task of the director is to create and articulate with others a vision for the work of the Center and to carry out that vision, both pastorally and operationally. The director will provide retreat, educational, and pastoral services for employees, as well as leadership and supervision for the staff employed by the Center.
As part of Marquette’s Office of Mission and Ministry, the Center staff works cooperatively with other leaders on campus (specifically Campus Ministry, Manresa for Faculty, the Jesuit Community and the Office of Mission and Ministry) to develop an integrated approach to mission effectiveness at Marquette.
Applicants should have an advanced degree in an academic field with a terminal degree preferred. They should have a strong familiarity with Catholic tradition and social teaching, and Ignatian spirituality. Demonstrated skills as a retreat and spiritual director, including an in-depth knowledge of the Spiritual Exercises are required. An ability to work with religiously and ethnically diverse populations and as a collaborative member of a ministerial team are essential. The successful candidate should have three years of work experience in retreat ministry as well as experience in higher education and administrative roles.

Director Search for the Campus Ministry
Marquette University, a Catholic Jesuit university in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a pastoral and dynamic Director of Campus Ministry. The Director of Campus Ministry is responsible for overseeing all ministry programs and efforts directed toward students of the university in order to help them grow in their adult faith and create a spiritually vibrant campus community. The Director supervises a full–time staff of 10, and 13 part-time residence hall ministers. S/He also serves as a member of the senior leadership team of the Office of Mission and Ministry.
The Director must be a Catholic who is active in her/his faith, and is competent in working with persons of many cultures, ethnicities and religious traditions. S/He must possess an understanding of the Jesuit and Catholic traditions of higher education have an understanding of Ignatian spirituality, have knowledge of Catholic social teaching and Catholic liturgical practice. The Director must be personally qualified as a spiritual/retreat director.
The successful candidate will have experience in a ministerial setting, possess strong interpersonal skills, an ability to lead and manage others and promote a collaborative orientation within Campus Ministry and with other offices and departments. S/He will have demonstrated proficiency in writing and public speaking. Experience in Campus Ministry in higher education preferred. Experience with managing budgets and engaging in strategic planning are beneficial. A Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field is required; a Doctoral degree is preferred.
