Complete and submit the 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for 2016-17 financial aid.  We strongly recommend completing the FAFSA early (available beginning January 1, 2016).

  • File by February 15 at fafsa.gov to meet the March 1 Priority Deadline.
  • Use income estimates if you haven’t filed your 2015 federal tax return.
  • Electronically sign the FAFSA using your FSA ID.

File your 2015 federal tax return early and electronically to simplify and expedite the financial aid process.

Please Note: The IRS Data Retrieval Tool will be unavailable until at least October 1, 2017. Please see IRS guidance for more information. For verification purposes a Federal IRS Tax Return Transcript must be submitted if you or your parent(s) did not use the Data Retrieval Tool prior to March 1, 2017. For more information, please see How to Request a Tax Return Transcript, 2016-17.

What is Verification?

  • Verification is the federal process of verifying or confirming the information provided on the FAFSA is accurate. Roughly 30% of all FAFSAs filed are selected for Verification.
  • Marquette will notify you if your FAFSA has been selected for verification and of the documentation to submit to us.
