Community Safety Update

Late this afternoon, an altercation occurred in the 800 block of 16th Street which led to the discharge of a firearm by one of the people involved in the altercation.  No one was shot, and no one was injured by the firearm discharge.  No Marquette students were involved in the incident.  Public Safety and other law enforcement officers responded immediately, and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department is continuing its investigation.

News Briefs is published Mondays and Thursdays, except in summer when only the Monday edition is published, and as news warrants by the Office of Marketing and Communication for Marquette faculty, staff and students. The deadline for the Monday edition is noon Friday. The deadline for the Thursday edition is noon Wednesday.
