1. Office of the President moving to Zilber Hall

The Office of the President will begin its move to Zilber Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 5. Staff will monitor phone and e-mail messages during the move, resuming operations Wednesday, Jan. 6, in Zilber 441.

Current locations (and contact information) for employees and offices are listed in the online directory, which is updated with each Zilber move. The printed campus directory will be published at the beginning of second semester, when all the moves have been completed.

The Office of the President is the final department relocating to Zilber Hall.

2. Women’s basketball offering $1 admission for centennial celebration


The women's basketball team will recognize athletes from all of Marquette’s first women’s varsity teams — golf, basketball, volleyball and tennis — for the Centennial Celebration of Women at their BIG EAST home opener Saturday, Jan. 2, against Pittsburgh. Game time is 7 p.m.

Parking, general admission, hot dogs and sodas will each cost $1. The team will wear special throwback jerseys to celebrate the first year of women’s basketball at Marquette. The alumnae athletes will be honored at half-time.

D2L, the university’s course management system, will be unavailable due to maintenance from noon to 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4.

4. Rec Plex offering swimming lessons for adults and children

Registration for the Rec Plex’s "Learn to Swim" program, sponsored by the American Red Cross, begins Monday, Jan. 4. The program includes a Tiny Tots/Wee Folks program and newly added adult lessons.

Cost is $35 for members and $41 for non-members.

5. Lunda Room offering complimentary cheesecake, cocoa

The Lunda Room, AMU, is offering a complimentary slice of egg nog cheesecake or peppermint cocoa with any purchase through Thursday, Dec. 31.

The Lunda Room is open for lunch 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 8-3073 for reservations.
