University cancels classes tonight and tomorrow; offices closed tomorrow

Marquette University will cancel classes beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, through Wednesday, Feb. 2, due to the expected severe weather conditions in the greater Milwaukee area. University offices, including the child care center, will be closed Wednesday. Check marquette.edu and your email account for updates.

In accordance with university policy 6-05, Severe Weather, limited campus services, including Public Safety, Facilities Services, the Raynor Library, the Rec Plex, the Rec Center, Student Health Service, IT Services, the Alumni Memorial Union and University Dining Services, will remain open.

Tonight’s women’s basketball game, pitting the nationally ranked Golden Eagles against Villanova, will tip off at 5 p.m., rather than the scheduled 7 p.m., at the Al McGuire Center. The MUSG-sponsored Night of Chocolate will go on as scheduled tonight, beginning at 9 p.m. in the AMU. Both the Boheim Lecture, scheduled for tonight, and the Business Leaders Forum, scheduled for tomorrow, have been cancelled. Wednesday's Soup with Substance event with Jim Douglass, the 2010 Peacemaker in Residence, will go on as planned.
