A birthday and retirement celebration will be held for Rev. John Naus, S.J., Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the AMU, Monaghan Ballroom. Work will begin today on the replacement of the two asphalt walkways on the Central Mall. The new northwest walkway will be reconstructed in the same location, while the path of the northeast walkway will be slightly altered. Demolition of abandoned and old concrete sidewalks will also occur at this time. The paving work will be followed by landscape restoration. All work on the Central Mall will be completed by Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The Office of Residence Life is looking for volunteers to help welcome students to campus. Freshmen Arrival Day is Wednesday, Aug. 22, and sophomores arrive Saturday, Aug. 25. Volunteers can work as greeters, assist with administrative tasks or volunteer to help students move into their rooms. There is no minimum or maximum time commitment.
