1. Summer campus maintenance update

The City of Milwaukee is conducting ongoing sewer maintenance that will disrupt water service to select buildings on the west side of campus from late May into June. Pedestrian access to the 15th Street Mall (by Olin Engineering) will be open, but it is recommended that alternate routes are used. 17th Street from Wells Street to Wisconsin Avenue will be closed once work on the 15th Street Mall is completed, tentatively scheduled for June 10 through July 1.

Memorial Library will be impacted by a temporary water outage, and building occupants have received specific information about the outage.

The maintenance work being done to the sewer lines includes a curing process that will create a foul smell. Safety information for the curing products has been reviewed and is available through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, 8-8411.

Other campus projects that will take place this summer include: improvements to the Westowne Mall sidewalk, 15th Street Mall sidewalk, and 17th and Wells St. sidewalks.

For more information or questions, contact Mike Jahner, associate director of Facilities Services, at 8-5700.
