In the interests of keeping individual students and the campus community healthy, effective with the Fall 2006 term all new full-time students at Marquette University — undergraduate, graduate and professional – are required to provide proof of certain immunizations and to complete a screening instrument for tuberculosis.

Proof of immunization is required for MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella (chicken pox) and Tetanus/Diphtheria. The information can be provided in advance of coming to campus by completing an immunization history form and a TB screening questionnaire that will be sent by the Student Health Service. The information must be submitted to the Student Health Service, where it will be retained in confidence. Requests for exceptions to this policy will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Student Health Service.

If a student does not submit the required documentation within 30 days of the start of the student’s first term at Marquette, a hold will be placed on future registrations. The hold will be removed once a student has provided proof of immunization.

The above requirements are in addition to those required by specific schools/programs (e.g. dental, nursing, physician assistant training) for entry into clinical practice.
