What's Happening on campus

1. It's officially summer in Milwaukee! We're planning our Summerfest line-ups, dusting off our running shoes to storm the Bastille, and a few of us are learning to sail in the harbor. There's so much more happening in the city, check it out.

2. We're gearing up for class registration too. Be sure to review the important information below.

Important Information

1. Thoroughly read your Registration Advising Guide!

Pretty much everything you need for registration is in the guide. We've already outlined your first semester courses for each major on campus so be sure to register for the courses indicated. You'll often have choices in core courses so take classes that interest you. Be sure to glance at the four-year curriculum overview for your major too, it's very helpful in planning your elective courses and seeing the "big picture." (look for details on page 1 of your guide).

NOTE: If you attended Preview you picked up your guide in person. If you did not attend Preview, we're mailing your registration materials to you. You can also print the advising guide.

2. Keep checking your Marquette email account

Your email username and password are the same as your checkmarq username and password. If you need to restore access, call the IT help desk at 414/288-7799.

  • Learn how to set up email with Outlook or your mobile device. (More information)
  • Housing assignments will be sent to your email account around June 8

3. Complete all required health forms
Due: July 1

Log into your checkmarq account student center and review all of your next step forms. Refer to the Instructions for Admitted Students for detailed health requirements. Failure to complete your health forms will result in a registration hold and a financial aid disbursement hold.

4. Review foreign language placement requirements
Due: June 15
There are no other placement exams at Marquette.

Visit the foreign languages and literatures Web site for details. Many, but not all, students must complete the online placement service. Detailed information about the process can be found online. Carefully review the requirements.

5. Submit your final high school transcript
Due: July 1
Your financial aid will be held until a final transcript has been received. Verify receipt by reviewing your "to do list" in CheckMarq. A missing transcript is indicated by "Final high school transcript."

6. Review your First Year Reading Program summer assignment
Begins: July 21, Due: August 20
The First Year Reading Program assignment at Marquette provides a common experience for all new Marquette students. This year's discussion will be based on March, Book One by Senator John Lewis.
