Research Interests

Dr. Schindler is an experienced pediatric nurse practitioner, health systems leader, and educator. She has expertise in quality improvement and patient safety with specific expertise around wound care, serious skin injury prevention, and skin failure in the context of multi-organ dysfunction syndrome. Dr. Schindler is currently completing a DNP in Health Systems Leadership with an emphasis on health care policy and advocacy. She is passionate about leveraging her knowledge of health systems and pediatric care to advocate for just policies that advance the health and well-being of children and families at the local, state, and national levels. Dr. Schindler leads global health programs in South Africa and Peru in which  students explore health disparities through the lens of health, human rights, and social justice.
