Online NFP Teacher Training Program
The Marquette University College of Nursing Natural Family Planning (NFP) teacher training program is a professional online educational experience based on the standards of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

The program prepares the participant to provide professional NFP services and to qualify for certification through the USCCB.

This educational program was designed for healthcare professionals and involves a 3-credit NFP theory course and a 3-credit NFP supervised practicum.

The Marquette University online NFP teacher training program was developed through a generous grant provided by Our Sunday Visitor Institute. (http://www.osv.com/).

 

HEAL 164: Natural Family Planning
This course is offered in a semester time frame, beginning in August and ending in December. Physiological, behavioral and spiritual aspects important to teaching and using Natural Family Planning.

Course Contents:

Module 3: Charting Signs of Fertility

Module 4: Special Circumstances

Module 5: Women's Health

Module 6: Church Teaching

Module 7: Marriage & Family

Module 8: Professional Teaching

HEAL 165: NFP Practicum
This course is taught in a case presentation format. The course begins in January and ends in May. Practical application theory and skills for teaching natural family planning. Students are assigned a personal preceptor and are required to teach a minimum of 10 new clients/couples and present an online case study.

Clinical session topics include:

Intro and Group Session Presentations

Conducting Follow-ups and Pregnancy Evals

Breastfeeding and Post Hormonal Cycles

Perimenopause, Unusual Bleeding & Stress

Infertility and NFP

Women's Health Problems and NFP

Behavioral and Spiritual Problems & NFP
