Office of Research and Scholarship: From the Director

Welcome to the web page of the Marquette University College of Nursing Office of Research and Scholarship.  The purpose of this office is to stimulate, support, and promote research and scholarship among the faculty and students of the College of Nursing.  We also have interest in stimulating and supporting research and scholarship efforts between nursing and other disciplines.

Our current office is comprised of a director, secretary, and four graduate student research assistants.   We have plans to add a biostatistician in the Fall of 2008.  The office provides assistance in grant writing, data entry, article retrieval, information on funding sources, advice on scholarship development, and other necessary tasks to support research and scholarship efforts.  We also conduct workshops on topics relevant to research and scholarship.   The director of the office functions as a liaison to the Marquette Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the University Committee on Research.

Faculty members at the college are actively engaged in research generating more than $1 million in extramural funding annually.  Example areas of faculty research include:

  • Women and reproductive health
  • Adolescent sexual risk reduction
  • End of life care
  • Health care systems and patient outcomes
  • Telehealth management of chronic illness

If you have questions about our research areas or are interested in research collaboration please contact:
