MUSNA - Marquette University Student Nurses Association
MUSNA, the Marquette University Students Nurses Association, is a professional organization comprised of nursing students at all levels. The nursing association serves as a liaison between students and faculty. It is a service-based organization that volunteers within the university and its surrounding areas. Examples of volunteer activities include working at Hope House, a shelter for abused women and children; participating in vision screenings for Milwaukee Public Schools; helping at flu shot clinics; organizing various teams for run/walks, such as Al’s Run/Walk for Children’s Hospital; and providing food and monetary donations to other organizations.
The association provides students the opportunity to organize and facilitate these activities to build confidence and leadership skills they can apply to their future nursing practice.
MUSNA is an official member of the WSNA (Wisconsin Student Nurses’ Association), which is a branch of the NSNA (National Student Nurses’ Association). Members attend WSNA/NSNA conventions in the fall and the spring to further student nursing organizations in Wisconsin.
