Post-master’s certificates
New Post Master's Family Nurse Practitioner - Beginning Fall 2013
Prepares pediatric nurse practitioners or adult-older adult primary care nurse practitioners who have master's degrees to become educated as family nurse practitioners. This requires 13 credits of graduate coursework. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the national family nurse practitioner certification examination.
Adult-Older Adult Primary Care— Nurse Practitioner
Prepares the student for the care of adults, including knowledge of human responses, health promotion and disease prevention, advanced physical assessment, diagnosis, and management of health problems. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the national certification examination for adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner.
Adult-Older Adult — Clinical Nurse Specialist
Prepares the student for the care of adults, including knowledge of human responses, health promotion and disease prevention, advanced physical assessment, diagnosis, and management of health problems. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the national certification examination for adult gerontology clinical nurse specialist.
Gainful Employment Disclosure
Gerontology — nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist
Prepares the student for primary care management of older adults with simple to complex health problems. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the national certification examination for geriatric nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist.

Systems Leadership & Healthcare Quality
Prepares the student for a variety of leadership, administrative and executive roles in health care. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Nursing Administration.
Nurse-midwifery
Prepares the student for independent management of essentially normal newborns and women during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods and for gynecologic care throughout the life span. Graduates will be academically eligible to take the National Certification Examination of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
Pediatric Acute Care — Nurse Practitioner
The post-master’s course of study is designed to provide education to nurses who have already earned a master’s degree in pediatric or parent child nursing and are interested in being academically eligible for certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. The course of study for nurses with a master’s degree in nursing but not in pediatric or parent-child nursing will be designed individually to meet their specific learning needs and may require preparatory or additional course/clinical work beyond the requirements listed below.
