Marquette Neighborhood Health Center
All advanced practice nurses (nurse practitioners, or N.P.s) at MNHC have Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers licenses, which allow them to prescribe medication. They also hold national certification in their specialities, advanced degrees in nursing, Drug Enforcement Administration licensure and credentialing with insurances that MNHC accepts.

In addition, MNHC's professional staff — R.N.s and N.P.s — participate in the educational and clinical experience of Marquette undergraduate and graduate students.

 



Casey Cohn, MSN, FNP, BC, APNP

Casey Cohn, M.S.N., F.N.P., B.C., A.P.N.P.

Casey comes to the MNHC with experience in episodic care, general and gynecologic oncology, blood disorders, respiratory illnesses, and end-of-life care. As a family nurse practitioner, Casey sees males and females of all ages.



Kristin Haglund, PhD, FNP, PNP, BC, APNP

Dr. Kristin Haglund, F.N.P., P.N.P., B.C., A.P.N.P.

Kristin is certified in family practice and pediatrics and provides care for males and females of all ages. As an associate professor in the College of Nursing, she teaches undergraduate and graduate students. Her research is focused around adolescence and sexual abstinence.

Kristin was appointed as a U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Scholar and in England on sabbatical until June 2011.

Gloria McGrath, MSN, CPNP, APNP

Gloria McGrath, M.S.N., C.P.N.P., A.P.N.P.

Before joining the MNHC in May 2007, Gloria worked for the Medical College of Wisconsin at Downtown Health Center's Pediatric Primary Care Clinic, Milwaukee's Adolescent Health Program and Children's Hospital. She is a pediatric nurse practitioner and has wide areas of expertise in the care of children from infants to school-aged children and adolescence to 21-year-olds. She has guided parents in this community about the health of their children for 30 years.

Gloria was named the Wisconsin PNP of the Year in 2009–10.

Deborah Schwallie, PhD, APNP, BC Dr. Deborah Schwallie, A.P.N.P., B.C.

Deborah is an adult nurse practitioner and started with the MNHC its first month. She has worked for the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center in general medicine, emergency room care and occupational health. In addition, she has experience in hyperbaric and wound management, community and school health, and mental health. She finished her doctorate in nursing at Marquette in 2008 with a dissertation focused on cardiovascular care. She also teaches graduate students in the College of Nursing. Deborah sees men and women over 18 years for primary care and minor acute care.

Patricia Patricia "Patti" Sobchak, B.S.N., R.N.

Patti teaches clients and families about nutrition, hypertension and diabetes. She is a graduate of Marquette's College of Nursing. In her 11 years at Marquette, Patti also worked for Student Health Service and has expertise in immunization — including travel vaccines — and allergy medication. Each semester, she is a preceptor for junior and senior College of Nursing students doing their synthesis clinical rotation at the MNHC. Patti is also pursuing her doctorate in the College of Nursing.
