Trio Alma Latina – Mariachi Music

In conjunction with the exhibition "Caras Vemos, Corazones No Sabemos: The Human Landscape of Mexican Migration", the Haggerty will present a concert of Mariachi music by Trio Alma Latina on Tuesday, May 13th at 7 p.m. Appetizers and refreshments will be served. The concert is free and open to the public. Trio Alma Latina has performed at Summerfest, The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Mexican Fiesta, Festa Italiana, University of Wisconsin–Parkside, Oshkosh, Madison and Whitewater, and numerous other venues.

Caras Vemos, Corazones no Sabemos: The Human Landscape of Mexican Migration

Caras Vemos, Corazones No Sabemos (Faces Seen, Hearts Unknown): The Human Landscape of Mexican Migration aims to help people better understand Mexican migration from the perspective of the migrant. Five themes are presented in the exhibition—the journey, encountering barriers, human geographies, negotiating identity and constructing the imaginary.

The exhibition consists of approximately 100 pieces by contemporary Mexican and Chicano artists working in a variety of mediums including; video and sound installation, printmaking, photography, painting and sculpture.

Caras Vemos, Corazones No Sabemos will be jointly presented at the Haggerty Museum of Art and Latino Arts
