Celebrate International Education Week!
Join the Office of International Education to celebrate the 2012 International Education Week Monday, Nov. 12 to Friday, Nov. 16 through more than 15 free events surrounding the benefits of global awareness and exchange. In support of the joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week will focus on cultural perspectives and understanding within the Marquette community developing better collaborators, competitors and compassionate neighbors in today’s global society.

Vote in the International Photo Contest
 International Photo Contest voting opens on Monday, November 12 to kick off International Education Week. Visit the Marquette Global Facebook page and select the official contest photo albums: Peoples and Cultures or Landscapes and Landmarks. Vote for up to three different photos in each category by clicking "like" underneath your favorite photos. Voters may "like" up to three different photos and the photo with the most "likes" will win.

about the Gilman study abroad scholarship and discuss Latin America over lunch. Somer
Nowak, a junior studying international affairs, studied abroad in Latin
America on a Gilman Scholarship last semester. As part of her program, she
completed in-depth research focused on afro descendant women in Argentina –
their history, discrimination and their identity. Nowak will present her
discoveries: "The Identity of the Cape Verdean Woman: Creolization, Stigmatization and Invisibility."

award winning Cherokee recording artist will perform in Marquette’s Henke
Lounge. Jacob’s music is a mixture of Native American, rock, pop, and folk

imagery and addresses the human issues of peace, justice, suffering, the
environment, relationships and wholeness while providing insight into Native

John's hit song, World, challenges each of us to think about what kind of world we want to live in. Who will we be in this world? How will we work to create what we want to see? What experiences will we open ourselves up to in order to imagine what kind of world we want? At the event, student organizations and university departments like OIE will have tables to share their vision for what kind of world they want and what they are doing to work toward that vision and what opportunities are available to Marquette students to help them imagine their responses to this question.

As leader of the global Finance Transformation initiative at Manpower since 2009, Puccinelli works to help streamline operations at Manpower’s offices in more than 80 countries and territories around the world. Previously, at CNH Global (formally Case Corporation) Puccinelli held an 18-month assignment leading a European-wide team of IT professionals in Paris, France. The Bayanihan Student Organization annual fashion show is Marquette's largest fundraiser with proceeds benefiting Youth Development for Change, which helps underprivileged children become educated, self-sufficient and confident adults.
