Gov. Doyle says contracts with state unions should proceed
Gov. Jim Doyle, as a guest for "On the Issues with Mike Gousha," spoke about contracts that were made to employees which called for furloughs and no pay raises as an issue that can't be modified since the unions have accepted it.

Christopher Okunseri, an associate professor of dental public health, received a $300,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to study how hospital emergency departments provide non-traumatic dental treatments.

Selig named adjunct law professor at Marquette
Marquette Law School has a new addition to its faculty: Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig. Selig has been lecturing at the law school since 2009 but now has been named an adjunct professor in sports law and policy.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist calls for compassion in reporting
Marquette alumna Jacqui Banaszynski, who won the Pulitzer Prize for feature writing on a piece about the death of a gay farm couple, gave the annual Edward D. Simmons Lecture on Society and Human Value sponsored by the Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with the Diederich College of Communication centennial of journalism celebration.
