Alumnus James Foley released after being held captive in Libya
James Foley, who was detained in Libya with three other journalists since early April, is now free. According to a Libyan spokesperson, Foley completed an administrative hearing prior to his release.

Marquette Law School hosts "What Now Milwaukee"
Mike Gousha moderated a forum on behalf of the Marquette University Law School and the Milwaukee Press Club. "What Now Milwaukee" provided an opportunity for the area's top political, business and education leaders to discuss how the city can move forward given new budget hurdles.

Howard Fuller, director of the Marquette University Institute for the Transformation of Learning, discussed Governor Walker's proposal to expand the school voucher program.

Experiment shows how to defuse the power of peer pressure
Steven Franzoi, professor of psychology, helped explain and analyze how teenagers make decisions and the influence of peer pressure. The analysis was part of a social experiment to see if teenagers would get into a vehicle with a peer who had been drinking.

Robert Liners, DDS, was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus in Dentistry Award from the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Liners has dedicated his life to bringing dental assistance to individuals in need around the world.
