A semester of simulation success
Marquette University and Wheaton Franciscan teamed up to open the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Center for Clinical Simulation this past August, and it has been a success thus far. The issue of traumatic brain injuries, including concussions, continues to attract attention in the news media. On Monday, Jan. 28, Marquette University will host a forum on the topic, which will feature
experts, including George Koonce, director of development; David Leigh, clinical assistant professor
and assistant athletic trainer; Matthew Mitten, director of the National Sports Law Institute; Carolyn
Smith, M.D., executive director of Student Health Service; Dr. Michael McCrea, professor of
neurosurgery and neurology and director of brain injury research, Medical College of Wisconsin;
research neuropsychologist, Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center; and Bill Cullinan, dean of the
College
of Health Sciences.
