International Court Justice to Speak
at Marquette
Lecture to address the growing importance
of International Courts and Tribunals

Marquette University Law School is proud to host the Honorable
Thomas Buergenthal for the annual E. Harold Hallows Distinguished
Lecture. Judge Buergenthal will present The Growing
Importance of International Courts and Tribunals on
March 8, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. in the Weasler Auditorium.
Judge Thomas Buergenthal is the only U.S. judge on the International
Court of Justice. He will discuss the impact of this
increasingly important court on the development of international
law, as well as its impact in the United States. He
will also speak about the growing number of specialized international
tribunals and their role in international disputes.
A reception in honor of Judge Buergenthal will follow the
lecture.
This lecture is free and open to the public. However, organizers
do ask that those interested reserve their place by calling
414-288-3167, by Feb. 25, 2004. The Weasler Auditorium
is located at 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave. Parking is available
for $4 in Parking Structure 1, on 16th Street between Wisconsin
Avenue and Wells Street.
