Students Win National Title
Trademark team wins national moot court
competition

A team from Marquette University Law School has been named
the National Trademark Champions, placing first at the Saul
Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition in trademark law. The
competition, composed of more than 65 teams, took place Saturday,
March 12, 2005 in Washington D.C.
In addition to winning the national championship, Marquette
team members Garet Galster, Jacob Short, Rudy Kuss and Abraham
Abgozo were honored with a second place national award for
their written brief. As part of this competition, Galster
and Short argued before Judges from the Court of Appeals for
the Federal Circuit and the United States Patent and Trademark
Office.
"This is further confirmation of not only the
tradition of excellence of the Marquette Intellectual Property
Program, but also the energy, dedication, and commitment of
our students,” said Assistant Professor Irene Calboli, the
team's faculty advisor.
