MILWAUKEE – Marquette
University's Department of Performing Arts kicks-off the season
with the well-loved spoof of the 60's on Elvis Presley, “Bye-Bye
Birdie”. Performances are at the Helfaer Theatre, 525 N. 13 th
St., Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:30 beginning
September 16th and continuing through September 26th. There
is a special $5 performance on Wednesday, September 24th.
Rock ‘n Roller Conrad Birdie is drafted into the Army and a publicity
stunt intended to raise money raises a lot of teenage girls' hopes
as well, setting in motion a story with twists and turns sure
to delight audiences. Will Conrad be drafted? Will the publicity
stunt backfire? Will Kim MacAfee receive Conrad's last kiss on
The Ed Sullivan Show? Don't miss the fun when Marquette
kicks off the 2004-05 theatre season with this 1960s musical comedy.
Tickets are: $22 and 25 (General); $15-$18 (Seniors); $10-$12
