Waiting for Godot to be Performed at Marquette
Released: Sept. 13, 2006
Marquette University’s Department of Performing Arts presents Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot at the Evan P. and Marion Helfaer Theatre, located at Clybourn and 13th Street.
Who is Godot, and why are we waiting for him? Under a lone tree for two days, Beckett’s tramps ask these questions and more. Directed by Phylis Ravel, this two-act tragic comedy is part of the French absurdist tradition. But Waiting for Godot isn’t about Godot’s anticipated arrival at all – it’s about the place he is not coming to. The play will run Sunday through Wednesday, October 1-4 at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices $10 for the general public and $8 for students. Contact the box office at (414) 288-7504. For more information, interested media may contact Anne Broeker in the Office of Marketing and Communication at (414) 288-0286.
