Jalapeno Eating Contest to
Celebrate Latino Culture

MILWAUKEE – As part of Marquette 's Hispanic Heritage Celebration,
Raices, a student group at Marquette , will hold a salsa tasting
and jalapeno eating contest on Wednesday, September 29th from
5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union, room 111.
The word Raices is Spanish for “roots”. Here at Marquette , Raices
is a multicultural student group focused on educating themselves
and others about the Hispanic/Latino culture. They participate
in community service events within the Latino community, and are
role models for younger Latinos by encouraging them to continue
on to higher education.
