2005 Edition of Foundations in Wisconsin: A Directory Now Available

Released: Oct. 17, 2005

Marquette University Libraries' Funding Information Center has published its 2005 edition of Foundations in Wisconsin: A Directory. Since 1975, Foundations in Wisconsin has been the leading publication for researching Wisconsin-based private and community foundations.

Now in its 24th edition, this unique resource is available in two formats: spiral-bound paper and a Web-based subscription. The online directory, with its custom-designed searchware, is an unrivaled tool for identifying potential Wisconsin funding sources. Both print and online formats of Foundations in Wisconsin may be purchased through the Funding Information Center, located in Marquette University's John P. Raynor, S.J., Library.

The 2005 edition documents the significant economic rebound and growth of Wisconsin foundations as the number of active grant making foundations has risen to an all-time high.

The collected data show that foundations in ten counties account for 88% of the total giving by Wisconsin foundations. Once again, Milwaukee County tops the list with 29% of the total number of foundations and 47% of the total grant making. The directory also includes a list of the state's fifty largest granting foundations, collectively representing 66% of the total grants, or over $260 million.

Foundations in Wisconsin profiles include street and Web addresses, telephone/fax numbers, contact person, officers and directors, donors, financial information, purpose statement, application information, geographic focus, sample grants, and grant-making interests. The print format is enhanced by three indexes: area of interest, county, and officers. The online directory allows searching by keyword, foundation name, officers, donors, city and county, areas of interest, and sample grants.
