Marquette Basketball Players Read
to Children
at Family Literacy Event

Marquette basketball players Todd Townsend,
Wesley Matthews, Dominic James and Steve Novak will be
reading stories to children at The Hartman Literacy and Learning
Center’s family literacy event Wednesday, Oct. 12 from
5:30-6:30 p.m. in room 145 of the Walter Schroeder Health
Sciences & Education Complex located at 561 N. 15th Street.
The Hartman Literacy and Learning Center is a teaching, research
and service site that houses the Family Literacy Project.
The Literacy Project is designed to improve the quality of
literacy instruction provided by teachers, and the literacy
acquisition of urban children. Marquette undergraduate teachers-in-training
serve as tutors for children from inner-city Milwaukee schools.
