Marquette University will host a luncheon
address featuring the top official for the United States Agency
for International Development (USAID), Administrator Andrew
S. Natsios, on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005. The program will begin
at noon and conclude at 1:30 p.m.
As leader of the agency responsible for administering economic
and humanitarian assistance worldwide, Natsios will discuss
the continuing importance of active global outreach even during
times of domestic needs.
The work of USAID supports long-term and equitable economic
growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting
agriculture and trade; global health; and, democracy, conflict
prevention and humanitarian assistance. For more information,

Natsios’ visit to Marquette is part of a year long focus
on “Human Dignity, Human Rights: A Call to Service,”
during which Marquette will host a number of events and speakers
around the subject of service and human rights. In addition,
Marquette will be the host for the presentation of the $1
million Opus Prize for humanitarian efforts on November 7.
