Marquette Board of Trustees

Released: Dec. 13, 2005

MILWAUKEE – Kristine A. Rappé and Glenn A. Rivers, a 1985 Marquette graduate, have been elected to the Marquette University Board of Trustees.

Rappé began her career at Wisconsin Electric in 1982, advancing through management and leadership roles in business development, marketing and operations. She was named vice president of customer services in 1994, vice president and corporate secretary of Wisconsin Energy Corporation in 2001 and senior vice president and chief administrative officer in 2004.

"Marquette is critically important to the fabric of Milwaukee and the region," said Rappé.  "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of the university's continued growth and service to the community."

Rappé graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and urban planning. She has also attended executive programs at the Harvard Business School and the University of Michigan's School of Business Administration.

Glenn “Doc” Rivers, a former Marquette basketball standout, has been the head coach of the National Basketball Association’s Boston Celtics since April 2004.  Following his time at Marquette, he enjoyed a successful 13-year career in the NBA playing for the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.

“As an alumnus, Marquette has given me the foundation for my career and I look forward to being able to give back as a member of the Board of Trustees,” said Rivers.

Prior to his time with the Celtics, he spent four plus seasons as the head coach of the Orlando Magic. He has also served as an analyst, paired with Al Michaels, for ABC Sports coverage of the NBA.

Rivers earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Marquette in 1985.  In recognition of his accomplishments, Marquette retired his number in 2004.

Rappé and Rivers join a board of 35 members.  Their terms on the board began at the time of their election.
