Marquette to Host Reading and Book Signing for
Novelist and Screenwriter Richard Russo

RussoMILWAUKEE – Pulitzer Prize-Winning novelist and Emmy-nominated screenwriter Richard Russo will give a reading at Marquette University’s Weasler Auditorium on Monday, May 1, at 7p.m.  A reception and book-signing will follow in the Henke Lounge, located on the second floor of the Alumni Memorial Union.

Russo has captivated readers and viewers with his novels, short stories and screenplays.  His work includes the novel Empire Falls, which won the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and was made into an HBO miniseries starring Paul Newman. Russo’s screen adaptation of the novel received an Emmy nomination. Most recently, he is the co-writer of the screenplay The Ice Harvest, starring John Cusack and directed by Harold Ramis. His other best-selling novels—The Risk Pool, Straight Man, Mohawk, and Nobody’s Fool—and the story collection The Whore’s Child have established him as one of the preeminent voices in American literature.
