On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Marquette University will host the
2nd annual sySTEM Now! (Strengthening our Youth in
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Conference
devoted to shaping the future of science and technology for
youth. The forum will address the economic and work force
development, and education and social issues that underscore
the critical need to bolster the STEM foundation for youth.

Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent William
Andrekopoulos, 8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Chief Operating Office of Briggs & Stratton
Todd Teske, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.; and
Marquette faculty and staff including Associate
Provost for Diversity Dr. Keenan Grenell, 8:15 a.m.
to 8:30 a.m.
Eric Von from 1290 WMCS will emcee the event. Panelists
will explore ways to motivate the next generation of scientists,
engineers, and technology leaders by discussing the role
of education and public and private employer perspectives.
sySTEM Now! is a consortium of elected officials,
educations and public and private sector employers
dedicated to improving the quality, quantity and diversity
of youth preparing for and entering the fields of science,
technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in Milwaukee.
The conference is free and open to the public. However,
reservations are required for all who wish to attend. The
event will be held in the Alumni Memorial Union Ballroom
Ave. at 1442 W. Wisconsin Ave.
