PHOTO/VIDEO OPs: Marquette to graduate 2,400 at Commencement May 22

MILWAUKEE – Nearly 2,400 students will participate in
Marquette University’s Commencement ceremony Sunday, May 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the Bradley Center, 1001 N. 4th St.
Pulitzer Prize-winning author and historian
David McCullough will be the speaker. He will receive an honorary degree from Marquette, along with three others:
- Will Allen, co-founder and CEO of Growing Power
- Bill Drayton, founder of Ashoka: Innovators for the Public
- Catherine Rick, chief officer in the Office of Nursing Services for the Department of Veteran Affairs
The student address will be given by Brian Harper, of Fond du Lac, Wis., who is graduating from the Diederich College of Communication with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Harper, who minored in philosophy and Spanish, was a columnist for the
Marquette Tribune, the university’s student newspaper, during his senior year. Following graduation, he plans to join the
Jesuit Volunteer Corps.
The university’s baccalaureate Mass will be held Saturday, May 21, at 4:30 p.m., at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave.
