U.S. Senator Ron Johnson next guest for “On the Issues” at Marquette Law School

First-term Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson will be the next guest for “On the Issues with Mike Gousha,” Thursday, Sept. 29, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan Street.

A businessman from Oshkosh, Johnson was elected to the Senate in the Republican wave of 2010. Senator Johnson has been an outspoken critic of the federal government’s spending practices and says the nation’s debt crisis is threatening what he calls “American exceptionalism.” Is Washington capable of addressing our nation’s biggest problems? The freshman Senator will offer his assessment.

Gousha, distinguished fellow in law and public policy and an award-winning journalist, continues his “On the Issues” series of provocative and insightful interviews with local and national public officials, journalists and other newsmakers throughout the year.

The complete fall schedule of “On the Issues” events is now available. Guests include U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin James Santelle, Growing Power founder Will Allen and more.

Seating is limited; registration is available online. For those who can’t attend in person, all “On the Issues” events are streamed live online at the following website, which also contains a catalog of past guests.

Media interested in attending should contact Brigid Miller in the Office of Marketing and Communication at (414) 288-7445 or Brigid.miller@marquette.edu.
