We design, develop, write, produce and manage a variety of marketing projects for partners throughout the university. Certain times of the year can be particularly busy, so it is best to contact us as early as possible to discuss the best options to meet your needs. Please note that depending on the scope of a given project, project lead times can vary greatly -- from four weeks to several months.

Considerations before starting a project

Print

Following are questions to consider that will best prepare you for beginning conversations about starting a print project.

  • What is the overall communication strategy for this piece?
  • What is the primary purpose/function of the piece?
  • Who is the audience, and how can members be best reached?
  • What are the key messages that need to be communicated?
  • If this is an event-related project, what pieces are needed? For example, these may include save the dates, invitations with reply cards, programs, event signage, posters and/or fliers, etc.
  • Are any other forms of communication needed? For example, these may include ad placement, media relations or internal communication, a video, etc.

If you're ready to move forward, submit a print project request.

  • What are you advertising?
  • Why are you advertising?
  • Whom is the audience for your ad?
  • Where should you advertise?
  • What publications or other media reach your audience?
  • How much money do you want to spend?
  • How will you measure the results?

If you're ready to move forward, submit an advertising project request.

Video

Following are questions to consider that will best prepare you for beginning conversations about starting a video project.

  • What story you want to tell?
  • How visual is the story that you want to tell?
  • How will the video be used?
  • Whom is your audience?
  • What is your budget?

If you are ready to move forward, please contact us about your video needs.

Web projects

The OUR web team supports university partners in the management and/or updating of the partner web sites. The team is not staffed to manage web sites on behalf of university partners. Following are questions to consider that will best prepare you for beginning conversations about starting a web project.

  • Is this a new web site request, a request for an update to an existing site, a request for an HTML based email, or a request for shortened web page address?
  • What is the desired timeline for the project or support?
  • Who is the content manager of the web site to be updated? Or, if this is a new site, who will be the content manager of the web site to be built?
  • Has the content manager completed training for Omni CMS, the university's content management software.
  • If there is no content manager currently identified, is there budget available to help with migration of content?
  • Is the site housed on marquette.edu, or will it need to be housed on marquette.edu?

If you are ready to move forward, submit a web project request.
