To help ensure a successful, well-attended activity, event organizers have a wide variety of methods to help communicate it to the campus community. News Briefs is just one way, but it should never be relied on as the sole communication method.
In addition to News Briefs, OMC recommends that event organizers communicate events, when applicable, through
- Online calendars
- E-mail marketing
- Departmental and organizational websites
- Social media, such as blogs, Twitter and Facebook
- Fliers
- Axis TV
- In-class announcements
- External media
For student events, the Office of Student Development has several suggestions, including posters, Campus Connection, Organizations Update, the Marquette Tribune, displays, table tents and stairwell banners.
