Marquette University's Athletics Nickname Survey Results: Conclusions Prior to completing the survey, the majority of alumni were unaware of the resolution passed by the Board of Trustees prohibiting the use of Native American references and imagery in its athletics nickname, logo and mascot. Once aware of the resolution, the majority of all respondents said it does not influence the way they feel about the potential of changing the athletics nickname back to the Warriors. 17% of alumni, 61% of students, 73% of faculty, and 79% of staff were aware of the resolution. 84% said (88% of alumni, 76% of students, 76% of faculty and 73% of staff) the resolution does not affect the way they feel about the potential of changing the athletics nickname back to Warriors.   If you are a member of the media, please contact a member of Marquette University's Communications Team directly with your questions.
